My Grandmother Inshirah: A Memory Telling the Stories of Time 

This project tells the story of my grandmother Inshirah, my father’s mother, whom I deeply love. She is 90 years old or more, but her exact birthdate is unknown, marked as “00” on her ID.  

Originally from Hebron, my grandmother moved to Jerusalem after marrying my grandfather, living in the Old City before settling in Issawiya. Today, she lives with Alzheimer’s, which has taken much from her but left her memories of her family and children intact.  

This project was an attempt to explore her life, experiences, and connection with time and illness. I captured her using a 35mm film camera, focusing on the details of her home: the sewing machine, a painting on the wall, and the TV tuned to the Mecca channel. I also documented moments where she seemed to converse with her memories or herself.  

This project is not just documentation but a revival of stories of time and memory that defy oblivion.
