This project focuses on documenting the daily lives of Palestinian villages isolated by the separation wall, highlighting the villages of Abu Dis and Al-Jib.  

Abu Dis

Abu Dis is located east of Jerusalem, just 2 km away from Al-Aqsa Mosque. However, the separation wall disconnects it from the city’s center, significantly restricting residents’ lives. By walking through its streets and exploring its homes, I captured the daily struggles residents face, such as difficulties in commuting to work or accessing education in Jerusalem.  

Al-Jib  

Al-Jib lies northwest of Jerusalem, about 10 km away. The village is marginalized and isolated due to the wall and surrounding settlements. I documented its details through field visits, exploring farms, streets, and daily life. During my work, I met two 13-year-old boys, which allowed me to gain deeper insight into the community’s life.  

Completed in 2022 during my second year of studies, this project aims to portray the restrictions on freedom and the impact on the future of these villages’ residents. It is not merely visual documentation but a call for reflection and change.
